Since 1997, Eco-Counter has developed unique and innovative solutions to count pedestrians and cyclists. Although knowing the numbers is the end goal, the system we use depends on the site – counting pedestrians downtown is quite different from counting them on mountain trails. This is why we have created specific products for the diverse environments that our clients work in.
Eco-Counter provides turn-key solutions for cyclist and pedestrian counting and data analysis. We offer a complete range of products and services to collect and analyze data, including high-quality counters, automatic and wireless data transmission, remote reading, and Eco-Visio, a professional online data analysis software, and in-depth exportable reports.
Eco-Counter designs and manufactures a wide-variety of solutions for bicycle and pedestrian counting. Reliable, accurate and robust, our counters are developed to enable you to precisely count bicycles and pedestrians in every configuration.
From autonomous systems to real-time sensors, we can provide the right turn-key solution for your project.
With local offices in France, Canada and Germany, Eco-Counter is a human-sized company where everyone shares the values of high-quality, hard work, and the desire for a more bike and pedestrian friendly world. Eco-Counter is regularly rewarded for its quality of life at work and for the performance of its products and innovations.
We develop and manufacture our products in France before testing them all over the world.
From Vancouver to New York, the Alps to New Zealand, our durable, battery-powered temporary and permanent counters are trusted around the world.
Discover case studies, best-practice guides and technical studies from our work with leading bike and pedestrian organizations. Explore the latest monthly bike count trends by country with our interactive dashboard tracking the growth of cycling around the world.

How to:
Address Data anomalies
Hello & welcome back!
We’re thrilled to have you here once again. So far, we’ve journeyed together through a range of topics to help you maximize the benefits from your bike and pedestrian counters, as well as your count data. We’re at checkpoint 5 with just 3 newsletters to go!
This week, we’ll guide you through what to do if you notice something unusual with your counts, such as missing data or drastic over- or undercounts.
1. Keep an Eye on Your Data
By now, we’re confident your Eco-Alerts are active and ready to alert you if there’s a hiccup (for automatic data transmission), and you are comfortable collecting your data by going to the site (for manual data retrieval).
Need a refresher? Our second newsletter has got you covered!
Additionally, we encourage you to regularly log into Eco-Visio and check on your data every few weeks.
2. Visit Your Counter
Spotted an anomaly? Your first move should be to visit the site and inspect your counter.
Remember, automated counters live outside 24/7 and are designed to withstand harsh urban and rural conditions. That being said, some care for your counter is always a good idea!
Regularly cleaning the area around your counter and ensuring there are no obstructions can lead to accurate counts and optimal data transmission.
3. Perform a Validation Count
In our second newsletter, we shared a handy instructional article on how to do this. Feel free to revisit our previous newsletters to refresh your memory and pick up best practices. Our goal is to help you reap the maximum benefit from Eco-Counter products and services for your projects!
4. Reach Out to Us
Never forget, we’re just a click or an email away, always ready to investigate and fix any data anomalies. We’re here for you every step of the way!
