Since 1997, Eco-Counter has developed unique and innovative solutions to count pedestrians and cyclists. Although knowing the numbers is the end goal, the system we use depends on the site – counting pedestrians downtown is quite different from counting them on mountain trails. This is why we have created specific products for the diverse environments that our clients work in.
Eco-Counter provides turn-key solutions for cyclist and pedestrian counting and data analysis. We offer a complete range of products and services to collect and analyze data, including high-quality counters, automatic and wireless data transmission, remote reading, and Eco-Visio, a professional online data analysis software, and in-depth exportable reports.
Eco-Counter designs and manufactures a wide-variety of solutions for bicycle and pedestrian counting. Reliable, accurate and robust, our counters are developed to enable you to precisely count bicycles and pedestrians in every configuration.
From autonomous systems to real-time sensors, we can provide the right turn-key solution for your project.
With local offices in France, Canada and Germany, Eco-Counter is a human-sized company where everyone shares the values of high-quality, hard work, and the desire for a more bike and pedestrian friendly world. Eco-Counter is regularly rewarded for its quality of life at work and for the performance of its products and innovations.
We develop and manufacture our products in France before testing them all over the world.
From Vancouver to New York, the Alps to New Zealand, our durable, battery-powered temporary and permanent counters are trusted around the world.

How to:
Activate Eco-Alerts
Manually collect count data
Validate your counts
Welcome back!
Here is the continuation of our training and introduction to using Eco-Counters. Depending on the transmission mode chosen for your counter, you can manually collect data via Bluetooth, or benefit from automatic data transfer via cellular networks. This email shows you how to:
Enable Eco-Alerts if you have opted for automatic data transmission
Collect count data manually from your Eco-Counter using Bluetooth
Do a count validation to ensure that your counter is ready to go
Eco-Alerts and automatic data transmission
Have you chosen the automatic transmission function? If so, you don’t have to worry about manually retrieving your data. It will be sent automatically, everyday, over cellular networks!
For those with automatic data transmission, our Eco-Alerts function informs you by e-mail in the event of abnormal data or unusual counter behavior. Eco-Alerts are easy to setup!

Collecting data manually with Eco-Link and Bluetooth
Manual data retrieval involves using a Bluetooth-enabled mobile device to connect to the counter when on site. With manual data retrieval, we recommend you carry out a retrieval at least once every3 months (preferably once a month)to ensure data continuity, verify that everything is working, and limit the risk of data loss.
To retrieve your data, start by downloading Eco-Link Evo if you are using our Evo range of counters. For other generations of counters, go ahead and download Eco-Link Android. The application works on both smartphone and tablet devices.
With your device in hand and Bluetooth activated, go to your counter and connect using Eco-Link. The application will then prompt you to transfer your count data.
Looking to upgrade to automatic data transmission to reduce trips into the field?
After any site visit, we always recommend a validation count: a 15 minute manual count to verify the counter is collecting counts accurately. After counter installation, maintenance, or recalibration, a validation count is a great way to get peace of mind about your counts.
Things don’t seem quite right after your validation count? Get in touch, our dedicated support team is always here to help!
