Privacy policy VisitorFlow data analysis offer

At Eco-Compteur, we design and deploy counting and analysis solutions to better understand mobility flows in public spaces, whether pedestrians, cyclists or vehicles. Our systems are designed to guarantee a high level of data protection.

On this page, VisitorFlow informs data subjects about the processing of their personal data.

How it works

VisitorFlow is a solution designed to help local authorities, nature park managers and tourism operators better understand and optimize the use of their sites. The information provided can be used to assess the attractiveness of different locations and identify mobility infrastructure needs.

GPS tracks processed in VisitorFlow generate precise data on the mobility flows of pedestrians, cyclists and other users.

Data processed

Quantitative data: precise footfall counts, making it possible to assess visitor volumes and identify trends from permanent or temporary counters.

Qualitative data :

  • Detailed information on visitor profiles (geographical origin, age, interests, etc.) from telecom operators.
  • Their journeys and length of stay, using GPS track data from mobile application trackers obtained from data providers who only transmit data with the user's consent. consent.

Comparative data: access to panelized traffic databases to situate site performance in relation to industry benchmarks.

At the level of Eco Compteur and data service providers, data processed at a granular level enables the indirect identification or re-identification of individuals.

Data transmitted to Eco-Compteur's customers are aggregated and anonymized statistics and are therefore not personal data.

Security and compliance

Data is processed on the basis of the legitimate interests of Eco-Compteur as Data Controller.

It is intended for authorized members of the operations team and the R&D Software development team.

The macro-purpose of the processing is to provide customers with the indicators they need to monitor changes in behavior during broader projects (micro-purposes) such as:

Urban and regional planning:

  • Analysis of the use of public spaces: Identify the most frequented places, peak hours and routes to optimize urban planning.
  • Event impact assessment: Measure the traffic generated by events (festivals, markets, etc.) and assess transport and service needs.
  • Transportation network optimization: Identify underserved areas, bottlenecks and alternative routes to improve mobility.

Marketing and retail :

  • Retail traffic analysis: Measure the attractiveness of different sales outlets, identify customer profiles and optimize marketing strategies.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of communication campaigns: Measure the impact of communication campaigns on footfall at points of interest.
  • Development of new services: Identify consumers' needs based on their travel or country of origin (public toilets, multilingual documentation, etc.).

Environment :

  • Study the environmental impact of visitors: Evaluate pollutant emissions and energy consumption linked to travel, and the impact of 'off-piste' travel.
  • Tourism: Develop decision-making tools for tourists, such as navigation applications or personalized tourist guides.
  • Heritage: Assess the impact of tourism on heritage sites.
  • Popular routes: Identify the routes most frequently used by visitors.

The raw data is kept for the duration of the study and for a maximum of 13 months in order to :

  • Produce the visit recurrence indicator for observatories (panels) and client zones, and the mixed-use rate between several zones for tourism studies.
  • Obtain analyses over a full year, and recover visits that would have started in the previous month, which generally meets customers' needs for hindsight.

For certain customers who have expressly asked to compare one season with another in their territory, the raw data for these territories is kept for 18 months.
