Complete description
Eco-Counter's Pneumatic TUBE System is the perfect solution for short-term bike counting. This system is used in cities like Toronto, Portland, Seattle, Austin, Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia for monitoring bike traffic in towns and on greenways. Perform short-term (one-day to one-month) studies in your community with the TUBES mobile cyclist counter.
How this reliable, easy-to-install bicycle counter works
Eco-Counter TUBES are different from traditional counting tubes because they are equipped with an anti-bounce wick that lets them distinguish motorized vehicles. This bicycle counter is easy to install and specifically designed to carry out short-term, one-off studies on bike lanes, shared roads, greenways, and more. Extrapolate these counts using nearby permanent counters and obtain a global view of cycling flows in your area.
The ARGO algorithm in the TUBES system is capable of differentiating between bicycles and motorized vehicles, determining the direction of travel and distinguishing the number of cyclists in a group with 97% accuracy. Mini-TUBES are also available for use on narrower bike lanes.
In addition, TUBES can be configured to capture mode share between vehicles and bicycles and determine their directions of travel.

Precise for Groups of Cyclists
In Portland, more than 1.6 million cyclists a year pass over the Hawthorne Bridge, which links the city's east side to downtown. Mini-TUBES are used to count large groups of cyclists with accuracy while being almost unnoticed. TUBES counters can display the number of cyclists travelling in both directions on an Eco-DISPLAY Classic+ in real time.

Client testimonials
"The counting system will allow us to understand the number of visitors to the new park, as well as seasonal visitation patterns. This data will help us determine the best ways to ...manage and market Presidio Tunnel Tops. "
“The count data is really inspiring. The way the information is presented (in Eco-Visio) – by day of week, user, busiest day – is so well and professionally presented.”
"The data is a real decision-making tool. They help us to plan better development projects, adapted to the observed traffic. They provide a greater understanding of the ...distribution of visitor numbers...to support the services offered in the park."

Presidio Tunnel Tops Park in San Francisco, California was created after the highway leading to the Golden Gate Bridge was replaced by tunnels. From day one, the park’s marketing manager wanted to understand how successful the new landmark was. To support that goal, Eco-Counter solutions were installed to provide long-term insights and guide informed decision-making.

The Napa Valley Vine Trail is a popular 18.5 mile (and counting!) multi-use trail in Napa, California. Pedestrians and cyclists along the route are counted and differentiated, and their direction of travel is also recorded. This data helps the trail's coalition understand how the trail is used, plan new developments, and secure funding for expansion.
