Complete description
The Eco-Counter ZELT Evo is used to monitor bike volumes in cities such as New-York, Sydney, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, Ottawa, Vancouver, Montreal, San Francisco, Paris, Budapest, Dublin...and hundreds of other cities around the world! This solution is installed just under the surface of the ground, acting as a semi-invisible counter that cyclists ride over without noticing.
How this bicycle counter works
Eco-Counter’s ZELT Evo Inductive Loop system is the world’s leading technology for permanent on- and off-street bike counting. The system is perfect for seeing trends and lets you compare bike trips over consecutive months, seasons or years. The ZELT Evo precisely analyzes the electromagnetic signature of each bicycle wheel using 13 differentiation criteria.
The ZELT Evo’s unique SIRIUS algorithm allows the system to detect all types of bicycles with extreme precision. When the loops are installed on a shared road, the system will accurately count bikes while ignoring cars, motorcycles, and larger vehicles. The system can be configured to count on any type of cycling facility (shared road, bike lane, or protected bike path).
This solution can also count and classify e-scooters.

Designed for shared roads
High accuracy on bike lanes and greenways

Reliable data
When it comes to displaying data in real-time, choosing the right sensor is essential. The accuracy of the ZELT Evo system on shared roads and bicycle lanes with heavy traffic is unparalleled in the industry. This high level of accuracy has allowed Eco-Counter to create the Eco-DISPLAY, a real-time display counter.

Client testimonials
"The counting system will allow us to understand the number of visitors to the new park, as well as seasonal visitation patterns. This data will help us determine the best ways to ...manage and market Presidio Tunnel Tops. "
“The count data is really inspiring. The way the information is presented (in Eco-Visio) – by day of week, user, busiest day – is so well and professionally presented.”
"The data is a real decision-making tool. They help us to plan better development projects, adapted to the observed traffic. They provide a greater understanding of the ...distribution of visitor numbers...to support the services offered in the park."

Presidio Tunnel Tops Park in San Francisco, California was created after the highway leading to the Golden Gate Bridge was replaced by tunnels. From day one, the park’s marketing manager wanted to understand how successful the new landmark was. To support that goal, Eco-Counter solutions were installed to provide long-term insights and guide informed decision-making.

The Napa Valley Vine Trail is a popular 18.5 mile (and counting!) multi-use trail in Napa, California. Pedestrians and cyclists along the route are counted and differentiated, and their direction of travel is also recorded. This data helps the trail's coalition understand how the trail is used, plan new developments, and secure funding for expansion.
